Unrolling the fitness red carpet
MANILA, Philippines – Not a single pound of body fat shed or one percent drop in cholesterol level will be left unrecognized and unrewarded.
This is the driving force behind Fitness First’s New You Achievement Awards. To be given for the first time in the Philippines, this recognition will herald and celebrate the success stories of Fitness First’s more than 52,000 members from 18 different clubs.
“At its core, Fitness First’s goal is to achieve the best possible results for our members by incorporating fitness in their lifestyle. Today, it transcends vanity and just looking good. It involves overall health and wellness that’s why we call it the business of changing people’s lives,” says Fitness First Philippines country manager Mark Ellis. “Our members’ health and fitness accomplishments are proofs of our dedication. They are our inspiration to raise our standards and they can also serve as role models for our other members.”
Fitness First’s Philippines members can vie for the award in five different categories. The Health category is for those who use their membership to make a real difference in their well-being — as physical therapy after an injury or as blood cholesterol reduction for those who have hypertension. People who made a significant difference in their physical appearance primarily because of weight loss may enter themselves in the Shape category. On the other hand, the Sport category is for more athletic members who go to the gym to prepare for a specific sport or an event that requires optimal physical wellness while the Strength category is open to those who greatly improved on muscle mass and general toning. Finally, the Staff category is for Fitness First personnel who lived by the ideals of the company and employed these to change their lifestyle.
“This is the cream of the crop among the country’s fitness enthusiasts. We hope that more people will follow the lead of these inspiring individuals to turn their lives around and change for the better through fitness,” Ellis points out.
