Health And Family

A charmed life is a healthy, balanced one

-

When asked about her life, Lucy Torres-Gomez will be quick to respond that she’s led a very charmed one. From doting parents who made sure she had all of life’s gifts — healthy, balanced nutrition, lots of play, and spiritual faith — to a loving, healthy relationship with Richard and Juliana, and her siblings, and the things she does for a living and for leisure. As a matter of fact, this porcelain beauty who graces television as host and does a number of selected guest appearances revealed in a cover story for a glossy magazine that there are a lot of things and people whom she loves (and of course, love her back). The life that she has led has taught her how to love herself and the people closest to her heart. The discipline that she grew up with made her embrace a healthy lifestyle and a sunny disposition. “I love feeling good, waking up in the morning anticipating a happy day.” She shares a life well-lived with her loves, “At home, we eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables, bonding together during long walks or riding our bikes around the village or running at the oval in Ultra.”

As a mom, Lucy instills discipline and self-control in Juliana by allowing her to enjoy all kinds of food, in moderation, “I want Juliana to enjoy all kinds of food, even chips and sweets as these are not bad; just that too much of it is.”

A charmed life is a healthy, balanced life. This kind of attitude in life and love matches Pascuallab’s advocacies on passion for life and health, making her a natural endorser for the products that extend to a relationship with the Pascuals. “It’s one thing to represent a good product, it takes on a whole new meaning when the people behind the good product happen to be a bunch of wonderful and humble people,” she says.

Lucy prefers Pascuallab products as it helps her live the life she loves. “I love Oracare and I never leave home without it. I also love Ascof as it is all natural,” she says.

In finding out more about her favorite products, Lucy asked Mia Pascual Cenzon, Pascuallab director of corporate communications, if she could visit the plant where her Oracare and Ascof (along with other favorites PotenCee and Betadine Feminine Wash) are made. During the plant tour, Lucy saw the original pill-maker that compressed the powder into pills, using a manually-operated device (which actually resembled an antique ice-maker for halo-halo). To the delight of the employees, Lucy indulged all of the company divisions with a souvenir photo.

At each section of the plant, Lucy stopped to talk to the employees and even had a chance to do some packing of PotenCee herself. While walking around the vast compound, Lucy noticed that there was a welcoming swimming pool in the garden. “My parents built that for our employees so that they would have a place to cool off before or after work,” says Mia. Lucy took to the way the Pascuals treated their employees. “It may seem like a random act, yet it speaks volumes about the kind of people running the company,” Lucy says.

Mia’s mom Sylvia toured Lucy around in the memorabilia room inside the ancestral home of Isosceles and Leonora Pascual, showing the generations of the Pascual family who have been immersed in making people’s lives better through healthcare. A meal of cochinillo, kare-kare, pancit, and kakanin capped the tour and during the lunch, Lucy then realized that her curiosity about this company and its philosophies were more than satisfied. “Another thing I love is food,” she quips. “But always with a healthy balance,” she quickly adds.
