Munch, party, and play at Fun Ranch

- Jennifer Ong -

For kids of any age, three things are forever important. First is play, then, there’s party. And finally, there’s popcorn (loads of it). Well, for all the munching, partying and playing your kid can handle, there is always Fun Ranch.

Fun Ranch is a place where kiddie excitement goes on all day long. Fun Ranch owner Vince Padilla says, “Kids rule here!”

And so, be prepared to be a kid again the moment you walk into Fun Ranch.

After a year-long success at its first branch in Ortigas, Fun Ranch opens yet another fun-filled play, party, and food area inside Westgate Center in Filicity, Alabang. From the outside, it appears to be a huge barn painted in red, blue, yellow, and green. Inside, this vivid splash of colors can be found throughout the place, too, along with just about anything else that can make a child go fun-crazy.

How does a playground of over 200 square meters sound to you?

At Fun Ranch, this area is aptly called Active Fun. Active Fun is a playground filled with slides, mazes, and passageways.  Let your child go down through the long winding slide. Then, they can venture into a pool of colorful balls with their friends. Actually, you can let your child stay there for one full hour at just P150 on weekdays and P175 on weekends. Parents can also have their kids hang out all day in this gigantic playground for an unlimited play fee of P300 on weekdays and P350 on weekends. Kids can also have indoor Active Fun and have Yaya join in all the kid play and frenzy for just a pass fee of P125. And in case all that playing makes you and your child hungry, there’s plenty of popcorn popping all day long nearby and a casual restaurant, too.

If you want to have a party that kids will really love, how about holding it at Fun Ranch’s Big Red Barn? Big Red Barn is a party place with the fun-loving child in mind. There are three major party venues here to choose from, depending on the size of your party. There’s the Main Barn that can host up to 150 people, the Upper Barn that can take as many as 250, and the Grand Barn that can accommodate as many as 250 people. Talk to Fun Ranch and see which barn is right for you.

And of course, where there’s a party, there’s also food — lots of it. Here at the Big Red Barn, food becomes kiddie (and sometimes mini) in every possible way. Take Big Red Barn’s party-style spaghetti, for example. Vince says it’s as sweet as any kid would want it to be.

Another big favorite at the Big Red Barn is the mini cheese pizza. Kept plain as most kids would want it, this pizza is thin, crisp, and oh-so cheesy. Then there are also some chicken crunchies, french fries, Big Red Barn’s famous fried chicken, pasta carbonara, burgeritos, soft serve sundaes and, of course, popcorn.

For the partying adults, there are pumpkin in carrot soup, cheesy onion soup, Caesar’s salad, pork barbeque, country fried steak, beef pot pie, classic hickory barbeque, chicken parmigiana, porkchops with apple sauce, tempura prawns, and more. And aside from pastries and fresh fruits in season for dessert, perhaps you can also talk the kids into sharing some of their soft serve sundaes with you.

You can also rent various food carts for your party, including cotton candy, popcorn, snowcone, french fries, and hotdog on a stick. How about renting a choco fountain, too?

Also, you can ask Big Red Barn to make you a cake with a 2D design topper or even a huge tower of colorfully designed cupcakes. And if you’re on the lookout for a party host, a fire eater, a face painter or just about any other kind of entertainer, Big Red Barn has also got you covered.

Now, the popcorn’s popping. Let the party begin.
