Now it can be told. In a series of grand birthday bashes, dahlings, another bash was thrown for Folio magazines publisher du jour and vivacious and nice editor-in-chief Vickie Perez de Tagle.
The "Living La Vida Loca" Vickie P. de T. likewise launched the latest issue of Manilles alternative magazine which features whistle-blower Chavit Singson and Rep. Edmund Reyes. This issue revolves around a Third World theme.
Held at Fort Bonifacios hot, hip and smokin Fat Willys, the successful bash was made possible by PR super girl and sultry beauty Rosanna Peñas organizational skills and the one-of-a-kind gastronomic wizardry of that indisputable King of Chefs, Billy King, palanggas.
Philanthropists, hotshot businessmen, hard-core socialites, civic-leaders and art lovers trooped to the bash, much to the delight of business wiz Rafael "Peng" Perez de Tagle.
Breezing in fashionably on time were famous reconstructive surgeon Ted Nicholoff Jr.; tres charmant Greek Consul Phil Adamson; and the sinfully sexy and gorgeous Jayne Yu. They all gathered by the bar to sip drinks courtesy of Premier Wines Rommel Gabaldon. Chivas Regal, Asti Cinnzano, Absolut Vodka, red and white wines flowed like a river with no end, dahlings.
The perfumed set who strolled in also included beautiful couple Lilibeth and Paqui Campos; Metro Pacific hotshot Charlie Rufino; captivating Evie Guevarra; and striking former Miss Malaysia Renny Harman who reeked of movie star mojo. Brainy beauty Babes Pekelharing and her perfect hubby Joost P. smiled happily as their luscious daughters Roxy and Liana turned several heads their way.
Adorable Nina Halley (of Love Garden fame) chatted animatedly with distinguished tres popular couple, British Ambassador Alan Collins and his vibrant wife Ann C. Also socializing with glass in hand were good-looking Edmund Nassr, Freddie Gemperle and La Tiendas Renol Urra.
Spotted too were NU 107s Atom Henares who cozied it up with Kara Talan; Cinderellas beautiful couple Danny Coronel and Grace Reyes-C.; Philip Cu-Unjieng; dreamy eyed damsels Jane Prieto, Rosanna Escudero, Tina Pluquet and Delphine Barbiers; and Best Supporting Actor awardee Epy Quizon with refreshing beauty new Close-Up beauty, Maike Evers.
Naturellement, the chit-chat ranged from the ridiculous to the sublime. A trio of super studs flexed their muscles while gyrating to the music. Meanwhile, a more serious pack concerned themselves with more seriously hip topics like engaging oneself in a worthy cause, simplifying ones life, being non-toxic, plus, plus.
Downing a couple of cocktails and munching on the yummy burger hors doeuvres were Finnish spitfire Riina Sinasalo, stimulating Carol Santana and spunky blonde Heidi Benn. The trio discussed the secret lives of men and their most bizarre quirks. Fun, fearless fast-talking and crowd-drawing, they could have jumped right out Sex and the City.
A drunk-as-a-punch chap lamented his loveless state ("I cant seem to get involved," he sighed) to an impeccably groomed Ramon Cacho who listened attentively.
Doing their own thing were mega photographer Wig Tysman; hip photo-bug Pepper Teehankee; party man Tim Yap; Venezias original night life hero Louie Ysmael and his wife, our palangga Cecile Chang-Y.; pretty as a picture Anna Tirol; super happily married couple, Shangri-Las Joy Arambulo Wassmer and businessman Butch W.; man about town Tito Quezon Avanceña; and Dance Empress Becky Garcia with her favorite business partner, tres charmant Henri Muzzarelli.
Blues aficionados were spellbound by the special performance of the Blue Rats organized for the party with the superb assistance of top DJ "Cousin Hoagy" Pardo. Realtor Eddie Boy Santos did a splendid job deejaying the affair as the band members (landed gentry, all) Trici Gomez, Miguel Ortigas, Andy Locsin, Johnny, Joe and Cowboy (Sampaguitas gorgeous son) drove everybody wild. Curator of Galleria Duemilas Silvana Diaz led the euphoric crowd to the dance floor with passionate rendition of rock and roll. Handsome Jess Sarmiento, not to be outdone, followed suit. Zany Ed Bouffard (with his entire clan in tow) sashayed his hip and shook his groove. Yes, palanggas, it was, as the evenings motto went, "Burn, Baby, Burn!"
As usual, the revelry lasted until the wee hours of the morning. It was another delicious blend of interesting people, good food and great energy. The evening was unforgettable, thanks to the kindness and coolness of Folio staff members Rina, Ann, Rose, Maricel, Jun, plus many others like them.
They came, they went, and wow palanggas, did they party! To our Folio Queen of the Night, heres to more bashes like this which was as exciting as the lady celebrator herself, Vicky Perez de Tagle.
Cheers, palangga!
For those who are sticklers for having fresh breaths, palanggas, heres good news. Leading confectioner Chupa Chups, S.A. has introduced the mouth-freshening Smints in a pen dispenser.
This time, palanggas, those white mini-Smints have been packaged in a tres convenient, sleek pen dispenser. It is stylish, practical and hygienic all at once, nest ce pas (as in, di bala) ?
