Mark Zuckerberg said Monday, February 5, 2019 he sees Facebook as a largely "positive" force for society as the embattled social network marked its 15th anniversary. Even as Facebook is facing a wave of criticism over issues of manipulation, misinformation, abuse and other social ills, Zuckerberg said it would be a mistake "to overly emphasize the negative" impacts of social media and the internet.

MANILA, Philippines — Meta Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg announced recently that Facebook Messenger now has notifications when someone screenshots your disappearing messages in a secret conversation.

In his Facebook account, Mark said that the new update is secured with end-to-end encryption.

“New update for end-to-end encrypted Messenger chats so you get a notification if someone screenshots a disappearing message,” Mark wrote.

Mark also said that they are adding GIFs (Graphics Interchange Format) and stickers in the chat.

“We're also adding GIFs, stickers, and reactions to encrypted chats too,” he said.

The disappearing messages in Facebook was first introduced in November 2020. The move was part of an effort to provide additional protection.
