MANILA, Philippines – Who isn’t horrified with mathematics? If you are someone who struggles with numbers, technology just made solving them easier for you than you can imagine.
With an app called PhotoMath, solving equations is as easy as scanning a bar code in a grocery store.
According to the PhotoMath website, PhotoMath reads and solves mathematical expressions by using the camera of your mobile device in real time. It makes math easy and simple by educating users how to solve math problems. By simply pointing the camera towards the mathematical expression, the app instantly displays a correct result.
The app can solve arithmetic expressions, fractions and decimals, powers and roots and simple linear equations. But this app is created not just to teach kids to cheat in their homework, the app also shows a step-by-step process on how to solve the equation.

Meanwhile, ?handwritten notes cannot be solved by the app. Unfortunately, the app can only read printed (e.g., from books). The PhotoMath app is currently available for free on iOS and Windows Phone. Android version will be released next year.
