Cuddlr: An app that matches people who want to hug each other
MANILA, Philippines – We have heard of dating apps and as weird and uncomfortable as it may sound, there is a new app which lets you cuddle a stranger who wants to cuddle with you without the pressure of intimacy.
We could all forget Tinder which created the “hook up culture” and explore Cuddlr, an app which aims to build closeness without the pressure of having sex.
Cuddlr is a location-based social-meeting app just for cuddling. It's a way of finding people near you who are up for a cuddle, without any pressure or expectation. When you and another person decide to have a cuddle, the app gives you live-updating walking directions to each other, so you can meet up.
For safety purposes, the app does not share your location until you've indicated that you actually want to cuddle this person. You may also block anyone if you don't want them to even see you on the app.
The founder and developer, Charlie Williams claim that the app aims to build a relationship that does not center explicitly around sex and dating.
