The Philippine Star

MANILA,Philippines - The Vietnamese creator of "Flappy Bird" is taking down the hit mobile game seven hours from this story's posting.

"I am sorry 'Flappy Bird' users, 22 hours from now, I will take 'Flappy Bird' down. I cannot take this anymore," game maker Dong Nguyen tweeted Sunday morning.

Nguyen said he is taking down the hit game because " I just cannot keep it anymore."

In an earlier tweet, Nguyen said that he can call the game a success "But it also ruins my simple life. So now I hate it."

Several Twitter users who got wind of Nguyen's plan are petitioning the game maker to keep the game.
