ASUS offers line up of tablets

Tam Noda - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines -- As the battle for consumer and enterprise IT rages, notebook vendor ASUS has launched new gadgets this year.

Banking on beauty, sound, touch, responsiveness, and ubiquity, ASUS unveiled three of its latest devices -- the ASUS MeMO Pad, ASUS FonePad, and the ASUS Transformer AiO.

The ASUS MeMO Pad is a  seven-inch display Android Jelly Bean designed for people on the go. It takes pride from its 10-finger multi-touch to provide customers with gaming satisfaction.

Besides long battery life, watching movies, web browsing, and reading are just some of the activities that the MeMO Pad can handle.

The tablet comes in three different colors — Sugar White, Titanium Gray and Cherry Pink. The tablet's retail price is pegged at P6,995.

Meanwhile, the ASUS Fonepad is made for people who value both the voice communication features of a smartphone and the entertainment opportunities provided by a tablet, and prefer the convenience of carrying just one device.

Fonepad is a compact tablet with a metallic design. It has a slim profile measuring at 10.4mm and weighs only at 340 grams.

The Fonepad is powered by the latest Intel Atom Z2420 processor with full Android compatibility.

Also,  the Fonepad features a  balance of performance and energy efficiency, with hardware-accelerated 1080p Full HD video decoding and up to nine hours of battery life. Its 7-inch screen features 10-point multi-touch, and a  1280 x 800 HD resolution for  readable web page text and detailed photos.

IPS technology ensures Fonepad's color with 178-degree wide viewing angles and images.

ASUS is selling the FonePad at around P9,960 each.

ASUS is  also set to launch in the Philippines the biggest tablet so far -- the Transformer AiO -- an all-in-one PC intended to handle a wide range of Windows 8 productivity and entertainment applications.

The Transformer AiO has an 18.4-inch LED-backlit display with a 1080p Full HD resolution and 10-point multi-touch and features IPS technology for images with 178-degree wide viewing angles.

Designed for desktop use, its PC Station is powered by a 3rd generation Intel Core desktop processor with NVIDIA GeForce GT 730M graphics and features an array of ports, including USB 3.0.

When detached from the PC Station, ASUS Transformer AiO display can be used as two different types of king-size tablet.

First, wireless Remote Desktop technology with dual-band Wi-Fi provides complete multi-touch control over Windows 8 on the PC Station for easy access to popular productivity and entertainment software around the home.

The Transformer AiO will be available by the end of March 2013 with a suggested retail price  of P59,995.
