Win a Macbook Pro in PLDT Telpad's bloggers' challenge

MANILA, Philippines - A 13-inch Macbook Pro is up for grabs for the best creative and ingenious local blogger who can come up with the most compelling 250-word blog post on the topic “1 of 1,001 Reasons Why You Should Consider Upgrading Your Landline to a PLDT Telpad.”

The blogger can start with the post, highlighting the key features of the PLDT Telpad and its plans.

 Aside from writing about the PLDT Telpad, billed as the world’s first tablet landline, the blogger will be judged with his/her creativity in weaving out a story slanted on the functionalities Telpad can offer. These include features on information, entertainment, enrichment, communication, transactions and productivity—which comprise among the 1,001 reasons why one should upgrade their landline to a Telpad.

Other notable features that bloggers can highlight in their stories are its clear and reliable voice service, bundled with high-speed PLDT myDSL broadband connection which is really redefining the telecommunication experience of every Filipino family. “In this digital era, we recognize the power of social media and how this helps keep the family connection alive. And that’s exactly what we’re doing here in PLDT with our Telpad” said Patrick Tang, head of home marketing for Voice, VAS and Microbusiness.

From these known Telpad features, bloggers can develop their blog post, upload it to their URL and create a hyperlink to http://telpad.pldthome.com/bloggerspromo.aspx . To increase their chances of bagging the MacBook Pro, bloggers must encourage readers to vote for their entries, which constitute 10 percent of the criteria in judging the winner.

Other criteria to pick the winners are message effectivity (40 percent), creativity (40 percent) and buzz worthiness (10 percent).

There will be one first prize winner, five second prizes of P10,000 worth of Heat and Circles gift certificates, and another set of five third prizes worth P5,000 of Bistro Restaurants gift certificates.

The competition is open to all bloggers based in the country. Bloggers interested in joining the challenge must visit http://telpad.pldthome.com/bloggerspromo.aspx to fill out the registration form to officially submit their entry.

Readers voting for a blogger’s Telpad story will receive an incentive — a 16G Micro SD card. Bloggers must mention the incentive in their blog to entice more readers to vote for them. Bloggers will also need to tap their social media network to get as many votes as they can until the end of the challenge in November. The contestruns until Oct. 31.

To track the online voting of bloggers, a PLDT Telpad Blogger’s Challenge leaderboard will be posted in http://telpad.pldthome.com/bloggerspromo.aspx, which will show the blogger’s name, title of his blog, and the updated total number of votes he has garnered as of posting date.

The blogger with the highest accumulated percentage based on the set of criteria will be judged as Blogger Challenge champion.

The winners will be selected on Nov. 15 and are given 60 days to claim their prizes.
