Samsung Galaxy Tab: A perfect 7
MANILA, Philippines - Ihave always found it amusing — funny bordering on the outrageous — that people put such high value on the meaning of certain numbers.
More so when it comes to lucky numbers. There are people who bet on the same number for the lotto for years with the hopes that it will be their lucky number — and bring them the jackpot. For others, the number eight is lucky. Lillian Too, feng shui expert explains, that the number eight is widely regarded as a universally lucky number. This is because phonetically, in many dialects, it sounds like “growth with prosperity.” This explains why there are lots of license plates that have “888.”
And then there is the lucky seven. I am not so sure why the number seven is lucky. But, growing up as a child I remember the cigarette brand Lucky 7. Perhaps seven must be signaificant because there are seven days in a week, seven wonders of the world and the Seven Seas. And in religion classes, we were told that God rested on the seventh day.
Enter Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus
I guess it comes as no surprise then that Korean tech giant Samsung developed a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus.
The Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is one of the main contenders for the ever growing market of tablets. The Galaxy Tab 7.0 offers consumers another option when it comes to the now in-demand Tab.
The Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is loaded with a 12.6 GhZ processor, the updated Honeycomb 3.2 platform and Samsung’s TouchWiz. It is one of those devices that people on the go will enjoy.
Here are seven reasons why the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus might just be the Tab you need:
1. Size matters: The seven-inch galaxy tab is not so big that it hard to carry around or to fit in the bag. The size is great when looking through e-mail or surfing the Net. And I like it especially when I play any of my fave games.
2. Built strong: I like that the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus feels sturdy when carried around. It is also a comfort for me to know that the Tab can take a rough ride in my bag when I am rushing off somewhere — and not fall apart in the process.
3. It’s got cool looks: I like the clean design of the Galaxy Tab 7.0. It is simple and easy to use and there is nothing frilly about it. On the top of the unit is the headphone jack. On the side is the wake/sleep button, just above the volume controls. On the bottom sits a 15-pin dock connector. On the left side of the tablet, a microSD card slot.
4. Easy to get the hang of: Over the holidays, I bumped into a lot of people who had gotten new Tablets for Christmas. For the first time users, the experience can be rather frustrating since there are so many things that they have to learn. But, those who I met who had gotten Samsung Galaxy Tabs from “Santa” were happy to inform me that they had spent only a little time getting used to the way the Samsung Tab worked.
5. Great camera: The Tab 7.0 Plus is loaded with a three-megapixel autofocus back camera with LED flash. In front it has a two- megapixel camera. The photos taken with the Tab came out well even at night, thanks to the flash.
6. Samsung hubs: The Tab is loaded with Samsung Social Hub that allows for integrated messaging of e-mail, IM, and SNS. It has the Music Hub which make searching for music and downloading a breeze. It allows one to listen to over over 15 million tracks which are downloadable from Samsung Apps. The Readers’ Hub has over 2.3 million e-books, 2,000 newspapers, and 3,000 magazines in up to 49 languages.
7. It’s a cell phone: Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is a tablet and a cell phone, too. I really liked that I was able to make calls without the need for a headset even if I was out. The 7.0 Plus is equipped with a Receiver Mode that allowed me to take the call although I must say I did get a few side glances from people walking by. But, who cares, I took the call and was happy.
