This is a job for the dynamic dual-SIM
In The Mighty Boosh, you have Vince Noir and Howard Moon. In Flight of the Conchords, you have Jemaine and Bret. Batman has Robin, and Jordan had Pippen (LeBron had Dwyane, but we all know how that fizzled out). Even Simon crooned with Garfunkel before taking his saintly rhythms to Graceland. Shouldn’t your cell phone have two mighty SIMs as well, so you can switch from network to network in a jiffy? After all, two are always better than one.
Two new Nokia models make that possible.
The Nokia X1-01 and the C2-00 dual-SIM mobile phones can connect with different networks for calls, text messages and Internet browsing (with both models able to store settings for up to five SIM cards). Both can receive calls and messages all the time — unless you are currently using one of the networks for calls or data application.
What for? Well, for one, you could separate your personal from your professional life using the same device with different phone numbers. You can call the office as Robert Zimmerman and call home as Bob Dylan, or something like that. One for Bruce Wayne and one for Batman.
You can also share your phone with your family or a group, but maintain a cell phone number of your own. Another possibility: you can keep one SIM slot for yourself, and then when you travel, say, to Singapore for work, you can use the other slot to buy a local SIM at the Changi Airport and not have to buy those expensive roaming charges.
“The Nokia X1-01 and Nokia C2-00 pack more memory, battery life and far richer SIM change and entertainment features than other Dual SIM (mobile phones) currently in the market,” explains Benoit Nalin, Nokia Philippines general manager.
These phones are bosses, not only because of the twin-SIM feature, but for their other apps as well.
With the Nokia C2-00 is the first dual-SIM phone to boast of the Easy Swap feature, which allows users the convenience of changing SIM cards without the need of turning off the phone or removing the battery. This baby is great for keeping your presence in the social networking circuit: it has 32 gigabytes of memory support. Think of all the photos of yourself you could pose on your Facebook account that only you would label under “Like.”
With the Nokia X1-O1 that boasts 16 gigabytes of memory, users can store and shuffle thousands of songs (all the hip-hop tunes and their infinite remixes, the nuances of which only the hardcore fan can discern). Users can play these tracks through unit’s loudspeaker that is the loudest and clearest ever produced by Nokia. The mobile phone also has dedicated music keys. Let’s see that baby blast out Cemetery Gates.
Let Pantera’s dark elegy ring. That is until someone calls you. From one network or the other.
The Nokia X1-01’s suggested retail price (SRP) is P1,990, while the Nokia C2-00 has an SRP of P2,990. Both are available at the nearest Nokia stores.
