Samsung ushers in the next Galaxy of Evolution
MANILA, Philippines - Samsung recently demonstrated its continued commitment to deliver innovative products with its latest range of devices that allow people to enjoy work on-the-go, entertainment, gaming, and even web browsing like never before.
Unveiled at A-Venue Events Hall in Makati, the event featured performances by world-class entertainers Air Dancers and award-winning dance troop Philippine All Stars. But the real star of the show was the Samsung Galaxy S II, the first 4G phone to hit the country that is beautifully thin (8.49mm), lightweight and extremely powerful with its 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. It also features the latest Android smartphone OS, Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Complementing this latest operating system is HSPA+ connectivity, the most vivid and brilliant Super AMOLED Plus screen, and the smartest voice solution that enables the user to call, text, e-mail, and even surf the Internet hands-free.
“With the Galaxy S II, Samsung wants to set the new standard in smartphones,” says Glenn Glinoga, business unit director of SEPCO’s Mobile Communications Business. The display quality, processing speed and uber-sleek design is, to date, unparalleled.”
The Galaxy S II is a powerful evolution of Galaxy S as it builds on the phenomenal success of the original Samsung Galaxy S.
“Consumers will no longer have to limit themselves because the Samsung Galaxy S II allows them to design their own smart lives,” Glinoga adds.
Also showcased were the Samsung Galaxy S WiFi 5.0, a tech lover’s dream that gives users an unrivaled entertainment experience through a clear display with mDNIe image engine technology, dual surround sound speakers, 8/16GB options, and a swift 1GHz processor running on the Android2.2 “Froyo” platform, and the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and 8.9 — the thinnest and lightest mobile tablets to date. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 weighs a mere 595 grams and the Galaxy Tab 8.9 only weighs 470 grams.
Combining the ultra-thin form factor with a lightweight design adds to the outstanding mobility of these two products. The new Galaxy Tabs support HSPA+ network speeds of up to 21Mbps as well as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n connectivity to deliver rapid mobile download speeds and reduce data transfer times. Both include a 1GHz dual core application processor for a powerful multimedia and multi-tasking experience.
Minutes after the media event, tweets about the new products and spectacular show were shared with more than 100,000 followers from the media guests who attended the morning launch. The evening event saw Manila’s tech-savvy and stylish set who braved the rain to experience the new Samsung products.
