MANILA, Philippines –  It was my first trip to a fashion show. But, I was told that the centerpiece of the show would be the new Sony Vaio laptops.

It was quite interesting how Sony and the designers at the recently concluded Fashion Week collaborated to make the models dress in funky, sorta futuristic attire and makeup — because after all, the laptops are gadgets of the forward-looking, a preview of fashion to come.

The collaboration saw fashion mavens holding up the latest Sony Vaio laptops for inspiration, as the Sony Vaio executives presented their newest and stylish collection while taking the cue from the global tech brand’s design sensibilities.

Lifestyle PC brand Vaio introduced its own roster fashion headliners to the Philippines. It presented the musings of Bo Parcon, Dimple Lim, Don Protacio, Jot Losa, and Russell Villafuerte, and unveils collections from Anthony Cesar Ramirez, Donn Delantar, Enrico Carado, Herbert Custodio, Kermit Tesoro, Oz Go, and Xernan Orticio.

At the event Sony introduced its Vaio PCs, highlighting the fun, easy-to-use Vaio E Series 14-inch. With vibrant, colorful looks, the new E Series 14 inch is perfect for everyday browsing, blogging or enjoying your digital media collection. The E Series 14-inch makes an unmistakable style statement. The glossy vivid colors, blue, pink and white with dot gradation sets out to demand attention when you’re out and about. A silvered Vaio logo “floats” on the notebook’s top panel, giving the depth and the richness, like a glass full of water that is about to pour off the edge. Matte Black color is also available at a different configuration.

The latest performance with user-friendly features

The newly refreshed E Series 14-inch is built on the latest Intel platform, offering powerful processing capability.

The E Series 14-inch models are designed with everyday ease of use firmly in mind. Touch the “Web” button and Quick Web Access instantly start surfing without needing to boot up Windows. For even greater convenience, Quick Web Access offers multiple tabbed browsing and a ‘split’ view that is great for browsing two web pages side-by-side.

There is a dedicated assist button, giving one-touch access to Vaio Care, which simplifies basic maintenance and troubleshooting. The “Vaio” button is also available for Media Gallery to give you intuitive way to explore your music, photo and video collection. PMB Vaio Edition, Vaio’s original software, allows you to enjoy movies, music and memories wherever and whenever they like.

Three side-mounted USB ports are joined by a fourth high-speed eSATA/USB port that allows super-fast file transfers to an external drive up to 5x faster than via USB2.0. Connection to HD TVs via a HDMI port is also available, making users enjoy their contents on even larger screens.
