Nokia makes life more productive

-

MANILA, Philippines - “Our research reveals that 80 percent of people want e-mail and IM on their mobile phones. They’re consistently the two most asked-for data services,” says Rhomel Marcojos, services manager of Nokia Philippines. “For those who already have one or more e-mail accounts, the demand for a mobile version is overwhelming.”

Entrepreneurs who run their own businesses and, at the same time, who need to devote time to community programs and family, attest to the added value of mobile connectivity.

IM allows connected mobile phone users to troubleshoot work-related problems. For people on fieldwork managing projects, this means coordinating work with other co-workers in other places while at the same time still having the capability to apprise clients in their offices on whatever progress is being made.

This is why the race to connect mobile users in a digital revolution that will allow them to stay connected via the Internet is one of Nokia’s visions. According to Marcojos, Nokia’s goal is to connect the unconnected and provide people with a way to easily and affordably create their online identity without even needing to touch a personal computer.

“Our plan is to enable messaging across the globe, to bring the Internet and its applications to everyone — whether they have a PC or not,” Marcojos adds.

With Nokia Messaging’s push e-mail service, a user can access up to 10 personal e-mail accounts from a single application on his mobile device. Whether it’s Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail, Gmail, Ovi Mail or one that’s provided by an independent Internet service, an e-mail account can easily be set up on the Nokia device.

With Nokia Messaging’s Chat service, a user can access the popular IM communities – Yahoo! Messenger, Google Talk, Windows Live Messenger and Ovi Chat.
