Gadgets, gizmos and Philips
MANILA, Philippines - Who wants a complicated piece of technology? From the use of cell phones to cameras to our choice of music players, practicality has always prevailed. There is a cycle among gadget geeks that starts with curiosity. We purchase gadgets and appliances based on the persuasion of popularity and of course, advertising. But no matter how advertisements make us believe that some brands are better than others, a number of users end up switching to more efficient models.
User-friendly technology never fails. In the case of Philips Electronics, simpler is better. It makes perfect sense. The Dutch brand has been known to create one of the most basic technologies, lighting products. Philips uses the same norms when it comes to its electronic products. While most technology giants focus on multi-featured gizmos and highfaluting tools, Philips stays on top because it always seeks to improve lives “through timely innovations.” The company finds reasonable solutions that consumers need and gives importance on health and well-being.
“Our company provides the best electronic products for consumer lifestyle and for health and wellness. It’s all about bringing comfort and convenience and pleasure to the lives of our customers,” said Victor Caindec, business development senior manager for Philips Consumer Lifestyle Philippines. In healthcare, for instance, Philips leads the industry in producing equipment for cardiac care, acute care and home healthcare. The Infrared Muscle Pain Reliever is one interesting tool for athletes and individuals who engage in strenuous activities with its “deep penetrating infrared warmth.” Philips InfraCare technology, on the other hand, produces a 300-watt infrared that provides comfort for muscle and joint aches and improves blood circulation by penetrating deep into skin. The tool is capable of covering up to 40 degrees backwards and reaches the shoulder and neck, the lower back, a thigh, and an arm. One can even set his or her personal treatment time by presetting the number of minutes. Who would have thought we could possibly have a digital manghihilot?
The artificial-intelligence-run rice cooker, as Philips put it, brings more life to every bowl. Imagine having a rice cooker with smart and automatic cooking programs that “control the right temperature.” With automatic settings, urban dwellers can leave their rice cookers plugged in without having to worry burnt rice from happening, while artificial intelligence (including a reheat function) keeps the food fresh and nutritious. This cooker does not only cook rice as it operates five food menus dedicated to cooking small portions, including baking of a standard sponge cake. Just like any Philips device, the buttons are easy-to-use. If you’re up for some shake, Philips’ aluminum blender can handle just about any fruit and vegetable. “Its multi-speed function will blend, crush and cut to almost any consistency you want,” according to Philips management. The sleek blender even has a special smoothie function, ice crush button and filter for clear juice.
Gadget geeks may not know it, but Philips also creates devices for grooming like the super-precise Microblade technology. It promises “to create the exact look you had in mind.” Tinkering with the brand’s ultramodern grooming kit feels like transporting to the future. One can create the look he wishes for with its nine length settings and varied styling options. Wait till you see the styling tools composed of beard and moustache comb, mini shaver, nose and ear trimmer, nine-position hair clipper comb, and eyebrow comb. Moreover, the material — made of hardened steel blades for long life — is sharper than titanium. As a matter of fact, the blades need no oiling. For women, Philips has an answer to bikini hair problems. The Bikini Perfect bikini trimmer has what a female user needs: “Super precision and less irritation.” It’s the kind of rechargeable gadget we rarely hear about. It trims, shapes and removes unwanted hair in the bikini area. Users can even have three styling options like the gentle trimmer, hygienic trimming comb and the extra smooth shaver — which you can use in and out of the shower. Now, you can have your own bikini spa at home.
