MANILA, Philippines - It is the right time now,” said Bunny M. Aguilar, Globe telecom communications channel head, consumer marketing. “There is a clamor among our subscribers to be rewarded for their loyalty.”
Globe, which has always had its heart close to its subscribers and its ears glued to their concerns, recently launched a rewards program for anyone who is Globe loyal. The “This loyalty program is the first of its kind in the country,” said Jeanette Beltran, Globe loyalty and CRM head.
Easter Sunday, last April 4 was a red-letter day for Globe as the telco launched “My Rewards, My Globe” and “TM Astig Rewards.”
The launch was not the usual TV, radio or newspaper ads, rather, Globe went straight to their consumers through their site online.
“This way, we were able to talk directly to our subscribers,” added Aguilar. “We wanted to make this rewards program something very personal for our users.”
Aguilar added that Globe subscribers from all walks of life and all over the country were sent a text message from 4438 informing them of the rewards program and also updating them on the number of points they had.
One World, One Globe
Out of 25 million Globe and TM customers, the total prepaid users are 98 percent. That’s a lot of prepaid subscribers.
Beltran attributes this to the way Globe subscribers load their SIMs.
“On the average a prepaid subscriber loads P20 every other day,” quipped Beltran. “This means that with the new rewards program they are continuously earning reward points for the many great reward gifts that Globe has to offer.”
It is a reward point system that follows the rewards programs of credit card companies and even some department stores.
“But, with Globe, the rewards are bigger,” added Beltran. “A prepaid or post paid subscriber can always check the balance of their rewards by texting REWARD to 4438. And, they can avail of the reward immediately.”
Rewards range from additional load to GCs from restaurants to iPods to Macbooks. The biggest reward is a trip to LA.
Here’s how easy it is:
If a TM prepaid user loads P200 a month and he has been with TM for more than 10 months, then after one month of loading P200, he will have earned 22 points, which entitle him to redeem AstigTawag 20.
If a Globe Prepaid user loads P400 per month and he has been on Globe for more than 10 months, then after a month of loading P400, he will have earned 44 points, which entitles him to redeem UnliText 40.
Stay Globe Connected
And, if you have more than one Globe line or if you have both post-paid and pre-paid Globe lines, you can pool your points together to get bigger rewards. The best part for me of course is that you may choose to apply all the points you get to pay your bill. Now, that is what I call a reward.
