Where the wild gadgets are
MANILA, Philippines - How much does a sleek, dual-SIM mobile phone that has a multi-touch panel, handwriting recognition, drag and drop touch screen capability cost?
In the recent Consumer Electronics Live! Manila 2009, Singapore-based consumer electronics brand Verzio gave gadget and gizmo-lovers a chance to take home some of their top-of-the-line electronics, from dual-SIM phones to high-definition handy cams.
Verzio played the number game where the first round is similar to the longest running game show The Price is Right. The contestant who guessed the correct price of a particular item and the person with the closest amount was declared winner. For the second round, participants were given two Verzio gadgets and a specific price tag that they have to put on the right item. And for the third and last round, contenders were asked to give an estimated amount of three Verzio gadgets and the contestant with correct answer got to take home a sleek Verzio product.
“Most high-end mobile phones,,, on the other hand, which carry both sleek aesthetics and a comprehensive slew of additional features have price-points that turn away even the most savvy technophiles,” says Carlos Po, channels development director of Haldane Phils., Inc. “But Verzio marries aesthetics and function without going overboard on pricing.”
Haldane Phils., Inc. is the authorized distributor and service partner of Verzio products in the Philippines.
Among the prizes that were given up for grabs were the dual-SIM phones such as 3G dual tri-band Duplii Exec and ultra-slim and anti-theft protected Skii handy phones. Cameras and digital camcorders such as the A501 and D500 HD were also given to winning techies.
