Globe, NCST sign agreement for Dual Training
MANILA, Philippines – Globe recently signed a memorandum of understanding with National College of Science and Technology (NCST), an educational institution that provides total quality education and skills enhancement programs in the field of science and technology, for a pioneering partnership program that will allow select NCST faculty and out of school youth students to undergo an intensive Telecommunications and Broadband Certification Training Program.
According to Globe human resources head Susan Rivera-Manalo, the Dual Training System (DTS) partnership program will consist of faculty exchange, classroom and on-the-job immersion that aim to provide a holistic skills and knowledge-based training to deserving NCST students. “This also proves that we stay committed to our corporate social responsibility (CSR) thrust by providing these students with technical career opportunities, especially in our Consumer Broadband Group,” Manalo said.
Globe and NCST tapped the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to ensure that the designed curriculum is applicable to the DTS. “We see this partnership as an opportunity to strengthen our workforce with a steady stream of quality repair and install talents which we will definitely tap in the future,” Manalo added.
