Motorcycle diaries
MANILA, Philippines - Some people ride motorcycles to raise hell; some ride just to blow their hair back. Worldriderz takes you on a motorcycle trip to help save kids with malfunctioning organs.
When Stephane Etienne’s son Ilhan was born, Stephane and his wife were, naturally, overjoyed. But, they soon discovered a problem: Ilhan’s kidneys were malfunctioning. During the weeks he spent at his son’s bedside, Stephane came to understand three things: one, kidney malfunction is a critical problem affecting people worldwide, two, it’s a growing problem due to lack of funds and research and three, he was going to do something about it. So, how does a motorbike-mad French-Australian respond to this crisis?
Worldriderz is a TLC Channel series that documents Stephane and his friend Jean-Marc’s journey from Sydney to Paris to raise money and awareness about kidney disease. The biker duo will head across Australia and north into Southeast Asia, through India, the Gulf States and then across Central Africa and eventually into Europe via Spain to France and Paris, their final destination. As they journey, they’ll visit local people and medicos who are struggling to deal with the very same problem affecting Stephane’s own son.
