The real James Younghusband

MANILA, Philippines - Tall and lanky, well-dressed, and with a mysterious air. That’s James Younghusband — the guy who suitably represents the newest Classic line from innovative and proudly Filipino retail brand Collezione-C2.

They say he’s the quiet and reserved counterpart of his brother Phil, and for that we assume that he must be a serious, deep-thinking kind of chap. But that doesn’t mean that he lets his brother have all the fun. After all, James, beneath his sculpted physique, hides a creative soul.

“I would have become a graphic artist or a designer, had I not been in football,” James reveals. He shares that he’s always had a penchant for the arts and an appreciation for good design. And his artistic leanings show in various ways, including in his manner of dressing. When not on the pitch wearing his football jersey, he’s often seen in easy, laid-back looks — pairing well-fitting jeans with a stylish shirt and sneakers.

James’ streamlined and impeccable taste makes even the simplest outfits instantly fashion-forward, thanks in large part to his select pieces from Collezione-C2’s Classic collection.  Of the collection, James says: “I love that the lines and designs are clean and the silhouette and cuts are basic. Its straightforward look makes them comfortable for me to wear.” Being a simple dresser, he says the designs from Classic are the most he can get away with. “The shirts from Classic aren’t too over the top or overwhelming. And I just love how it can effortlessly make my everyday get-ups more interesting,” he adds.

James confesses the most he would do to transform his “look” is change his hairstyle or wear a new pair of shoes. “I live by basics, and a Classic shirt is just the right choice to upgrade my casual look.”

Promoting Filipino pride and talent is a very important thing for him, and he takes it very seriously. “To me, there’s a lot more to representing the country through football. It’s not only in the actual games that we represent our country — we stand up for our country on a daily basis, it’s embedded in our lives.”
