It pays to be super-dad

-

MANILA, Philippines -  As Father’s Day approaches, Payless ShoeSource — which offers Dexter, Airwalk and Champion — pays tribute to two stylish fathers: entrepreneur Macky Mathay and former PBA player Vince Hizon. With so much happening in their lives, these two super-dads share how balancing work, family, and fashion can be possible.

Even with his busy schedule managing two businesses, Macky Mathay considers himself lucky that he can control his own time. For him, this means he can always be there for his two boys, Roan and Colin.

Vince dons a pair of Airwalk Rio Plaid Sneakers; Vicente, Airwalk Skull Kicks; and Paul, Dexter Dakota Blind Closure Shoes.

“Since I started my family at a young age, I made a commitment to make the most of everything. Kids grow up so fast!” he shares. With great enthusiasm, Macky reveals that he even learned Beyblade from Roan and Colin. Whenever possible, he would take his two boys to his office at Cruisin’ Motors. “Roan and Colin get really excited since they love cars just like me. It’s a time I really treasure since it really is a father-son bonding moment for us,” he shares.

Vince Hizon has the same take when it comes to valuing his family. With his many endeavors in social responsibility, Vince manages to still be the best father to his sons, Vicente and Paul. Growing up with a wonderful father himself, Vince strives to be a fun yet dedicated dad.

He explains, “It’s about making moments that I will never forget, which me and my sons can always look back and remember as they grow up. And I was so amazed that Vicente, who is only in grade two, could explain to me how oxidation causes the planet Mars to be red.

Macky Mathay dons a pair of State Street Trent Shoes; Roan, Smart Fit Brown Mesh Boat Shoes; and Colin, Smart Fit Brown Double Strap Shoes.

Both Macky and Vince have a lot going on for them in their lives. Nevertheless, they admit that being in fashion has always been easy and natural. When choosing a pair of shoes that would match their outfit, they take into consideration comfort, but more importantly, style.

In the Philippines, Payless is managed by Footwear Specialty Retailers Inc., a division of Stores Specialists Inc. It has aggressively expanded from its first store in Festival Mall in Alabang last July to nine stores by the end of 2010. Payless Shoesource is now open 15 stores all over the Philippines. Payless is now available in Festival Mall, SM Megamall, Ali Mall, Shangri-La Plaza Mall, Shoppesville Greenhills, Power Plant Mall, Robinsons Galleria, Market! Market!, Marquee Mall in Pampanga, Paseo de Sta. Rosa in Laguna, Trinoma, SM Manila, Ayala Center Cebu, SM Masinag and Abreeza in Davao. More stores are set to open this year in Metro Manila, as well as in Cebu and Cagayan De Oro.
