MANILA, Philippines - F&X enters summer with reckless abandon, with its latest collection of brightly hued separates and simple, sporty silhouettes.
Basic tees shine in every shade of the rainbow, be it lemon yellow, tangerine, coral, aqua, grass green or blue. These come in round-neck shirts and sleeveless tanks for the women, as well as classic pique polo shirts for the men. And whereas lace trims on tanks add a sweet touch to ladies’ camisoles, sporty heather gray and blue gym shorts add a sportif feel to loungewear, as do varsity letter tees and sport-print shirts for the guys.
When it comes to denim, dark rinses abound, giving a sleek counterpoint to the range of bright colors. Cargo khaki shorts are also a go-to silhouette for men, as are madras shorts and rugged, whiskered, hole-ridden denims. For the girls, checks also come into play, with teensy shorts, as well as belted paper bag numbers.
Swimwear gets the same bright color palette in simple non-embellished makes, while maxidresses make a cool option for hot summer nights, in breezy florals. Again, checks make a statement on halter day dresses, as well as on men’s checked short-sleeved button-downs and ladies’ sleeveless versions. All in all, the mood is one that harks back to the country, while still keeping the lines clean enough to wear in the city.
