Back to the flight deck
In celebration of this collection’s fifth anniversary, Victorinox Swiss Army is pleased to present the limited-edition AirBoss Mach 6 Power Gauge with mechanical movement. Rugged yet sophisticated, the AirBoss Collection was first introduced in 2003, inspired by the flight deck boss of today’s aircraft carriers. You’ll feel like you’re in the cockpit of your very own fighter jet every time you glance at this amazing timepiece’s many instruments and controls.
This timepiece features a very unique power gauge, which monitors the level of mechanical energy remaining in hours. Inspired by the instrument panel of an airplane, this fourth counter on the dial is powered by a small differential mechanism able to translate the rotation of the emptying barrel into a power reserve indication. This feature is an addition to the already impressive 7750 Valjoux self-winding chronograph movement.
This spectacular chronograph is housed in a sturdy 45mm diameter stainless steel case with an extra scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The external face treatment allows glare-free visual access to the striking black dial. The chiseled hands and numerals are finished in Gun Metal PVD while luminescent portions of the hands and subdial markers allow for easy viewing in the dark.
The outer rim of the exhibition case back boasts a delicately engraved Swiss Air Force emblem and the limited-edition number of the individual timepiece. Through the shatter-resistant mineral crystal, the powerful movement can be viewed hard at work while beautifully displaying its perlage and Côtes de Genève finishing — and, of course, the Victorinox Swiss Army cross and shield logo. A Swiss-made black leather strap with gray contrast stitching completes the piece.
The AirBoss Mach 6 Power Gauge will be produced in a very limited edition of 333 pieces worldwide. Each timepiece will be offered in a special collector’s box with certificate of authenticity.
