‘Unli’ soup, salad, breadsticks as Olive Garden opens BGC branch
MANILA, Philippines — Italian-American restaurant chain Olive Garden recently opened its third branch in The Verve, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, in front of Maybank Performing Arts Theater.
The third branch follows its predecessors opened in Glorietta 3 last January 9 and in Mall of Asia last September 12.
For first-timers, the restaurant chain recommends its bestsellers that have made the restaurant iconic in its over 900 stores globally. Every order of an entrée comes with all-you-can-eat soup, salad and breadsticks. The freshly-baked breadsticks are widely popular for being buttery, a bit garlicky, moist and chewy. The unlimited salad is a mix of healthy greens, tomatoes and olives with a light house dressing while the soup selection includes Pasta E Fagioli, Zuppa Toscana, Minestrone and Chicken & Gnocchi, as a prelude to a great meal.
Among the must-trys, according to the restaurant, are signature items such as Tour of Italy (with Chicken Parmigiana, Lasagna Classico and Fettucino Alfredo), the world famous Amazing
Alfredos, and an Italian classic – Shrimp Scampi.
Recently, four new dishes were introduced. These flavorful and filling plates, served with a choice of mashed potato or steamed rice, include Mediterranean Chicken, Chicken Tuscany, Roasted Herb Chicken and Italian Braised Short Ribs.
Like other restaurants in The Bistro Group portfolio in the Philippines, the third Olive Garden branch boasts of a wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks such as craft beer and cocktails available throughout the restaurant’s opening hours (Monday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.).
True to its Italian-American inspiration, the new diner evokes a homey, Tuscan vibe in its earth tones, brick walls, pattern tile flooring, partially covered cushioned dining areas for a bit of privacy, well-manicured suroundings, and arched pathways decked with nostalgic photos of Italy.
