A marmalade world
MANILA, Philippines - It’s such a nice feeling to come inside and dine at Marmalade Kitchen because it is an extension of Aileen Anastacio’s home. Here she prepares almost everything from scratch and cooks dishes that she herself loves to eat.
Aside from being her friend, I have been an avid fan of hers ever since she started. I remember her always so eager to share her recipes with me. As soon as she graduated from college in 1995, she started her own commissary business called C’est Si Bon. She supplied stores and restaurants, including Bon Appetit at Rustan’s. She also put up the Home Cafe of Rustan’s in the home department. In 1999, she became partners with her best friend, Marivic Ortigas Borromeo, in Goodies N’ Sweets in San Antonio Plaza Forbes Park. Then late last year, she opened Marmalade Kitchen.
There are many freshly baked cakes and pastries in the counter as you enter. Many delicious sweets, packaged goodies to take home, home scents, liquid soaps and Aileen’s cookbooks.
Aside from the cafe, Marmalade Kitchen has a Kitchen Studio where they have cooking classes. You can also use the studio for private parties for kids or even adults.
Marmalade Kitchen is located at Unit 2-5 Forum Global Building, 7th Avenue corner Federacion Avenue, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, telephone 622-9196 or mobile 0917-837-0959.
