TGIFriday’s Gen Rev Bacasno wins 2nd at World Bartending Championship

MANILA, Philippines -TGIFriday’s Philippines’ Gen Rev “The Revolution” Bacasno, recently won  second runner-up honors  at the  “23rd annual World Bartender Championship” (WBC) in Dallas, Texas. The grand prize winner was USA’s Andy Hool of Canton, Michigan.

Gen Rev competed against 11 of the world’s exceptional bartenders and the best in the industry in what was touted as the toughest and most-awaited event in TGIFriday’s worldwide.

Gen Rev was a two-time TGIFriday’s bartending champion, was adjudged second  runner-up in the  2012 Asian Bartending  Bartending Competition in Melbourne, Australia and won the grand prize in this year’s  regional contest  earning him the title “ultimate bartender” and the ticket to represent TGIFriday’s Philippines  and the Asia-Pacific Region at the  recent World Bartending Competition in Dallas.

 He was able to master the new and improved recipes of more than 50 cocktails and did good in the written exam and at the Compulsory and Speed Rounds. His performance was spiced up with illusion stunts, great conversation with the judges and magic surprises that caught the crowd’s attention.  Among his dazzling moves were the “shaker boomerang” and  “liquid snatch” that literally lit up the bar.
