Planet Grapes opens at McKinley Hill

MANILA, Philippines - Fun and glamour was in the air as a young crowed showed up to celebrate the formal opening of Planet Grapes. The new wine store and bar in McKinley Hill, Taguig City offers a wide and varied selection of premium wines and tasty nibbles — at reasonable prices.

During the special event, attendees enjoyed the company of friends and celebrity guests who took time out from their busy schedules to enjoy refreshing sips of premium wines with delightful aromas.

Guests were welcomed by Planet Grapes managing director Romy Sia who enticed everyone to discover the path to wine. Guests enjoyed different kinds of wines -- from the classic and crisp Chardonnay, fresh Sauvignon Blanc, to light and easy Pinot Noir to sophisticated Cabernet Sauvignon, and dry and exotic Riesling.

Hosts of the event were  Tim Yap and celebrity DJ  Ron Poe. Among the personalities who graced the event were VJ-turned TV host Patty Laurel and DJ and host Andi Manzano  who gamely answered wine-related questions.  Equally adding vibrance to the event was the presence of TV host Marc  Nelson along with talented  young actors  like  Rocco Nacino,  Enzo Pineda, Steven Silva, Yassi Pressman and Ellen Adarna.

 The menu especially prepared by the Enderun chefs included seared roast beef and horseradish cream in French baguette, chicken lollipop, sugar-cured salmon and cream cheese with keta caviar, assorted maki rolls, pan-fried gyoza dumplings, seared tuna sashimi, baked oysters on spinach, mini mushrooms crostini and assorted French macaroons.

The wine options are organized by grape varietals, and grouped into red and white wine. The inviting, contemporary wine bar has chic interiors with a modern touch. The walls are lined up with neatly displayed bottles. There is subdued LED-lighting, and soft background music wafts in the air, adding to a cozy feel, perfect for a relaxing evening with friends, colleagues, or clients.

 The state-of-the-art Italian enomatic machines allow customers to try their choice of wines from a wide selection. Customers looking for a bottle of wine for personal consumption or gift may obtain assistance from friendly and knowledgeable customer service staff.

 Three more Planet Grapes stores are set to open soon at Century City Mall in Makati, Ayala Center Cebu, and River Park at Festival Mall Alabang.
