Malling at Marquee Mall

- Julie Cabatit-Alegre -

MANILA, Philippines - You can’t miss it. As you exit the NLEX in Angeles City, you spot it to your left, Ayala’s Marquee Mall. With three floors housing over 450 shops, restaurants, and cinema, it’s a compact version of other Ayala Malls in Metro Manila. Residents of Angeles City as well as the other neighboring towns in Pampanga no longer need to motor all the way down to Manila to be able to shop for their favorite imported signature brands as well as high-quality local merchandise. Moreover, the salespersons at Marquee Mall display the easy charm of small town hospitality, matched only by the kind of efficiency you’ve come to expect at every Ayala Mall. Who wouldn’t want to shop there?

Like the other Ayala Malls, Marquee Mall in Angeles City has a circular layout with the hub of activities and events located at the center. This was where the cooking demonstrations of STAR’s EAT Dining Festival was held on a somewhat rainy weekend. “Marquee Mall presents Manila-based dining and home-based concepts,” the public address system blared, inviting shoppers to watch and participate in the fun event.

Ayala’s Marquee Mall is just a stone’s throw away from the NLEX exit in Angeles City.

Marquee Mall is also said to be “the premium dining destination in Angeles City.” Among the participating restaurants located at the Marquee Mall, with their signature STAR dish in STAR’s EAT Dining Festival are: Italianni’s with its STAR Meatballs, Red Kimono with its Chicken Staryaki, Sumo Sam with its Star Victory, TGIFriday’s with its Chicken Star Fingers, The White Hat with its The Star and Style Hat, and The Old Spaghetti House with its Star Marinara as well as Philly-pine Star Cheese Steak Pizza.

For those coming from Manila and other out-of-town places, making a pit stop at the Marquee Mall, the real treats are to be found in the dining places serving local delicacies such as Kabigting’s Halo Halo, with its Kabigting’s Halo Halo Scoop and Palabok Expose; Nathaniel’s, with its Ang Ma-Star-ap na Buko Pandan Salad, and Susie’s Cuisine with its Umaatikabong Tibok Tibok. You should also try the sisig, which the province is known for and which you’ll find served in more than just one eating place. Or you might want to take home for pasalubong a number of kakanin, rice cakes and local delicacies. All these you’ll find at Ayala’s Marquee Mall in Angeles City.
