Hitachi launches Christmas fiesta with tree-lighting ceremony
MANILA, Philippines - Hitachi Asia Ltd. launched the Hitachi Christmas Fiesta, a Christmas tree-lighting ceremony organized by the Hitachi Group of Companies, at the South Arcade Area of SM Mall of Asia.
Organized in conjunction with Hitachi’s 100th anniversary, the Hitachi tree lighting ceremony highlighted the synergy among the Hitachi Group of Companies in the Philippines. This year, the ornaments used to adorn the 30-foot tree were made of recyclable materials and shows Hitachi’s commitment to the conservation of resources.
Kicking off the night’s funfair was a performance by the Sta. Isabel College Singers who rendered well-loved Christmas carols followed by actress and singer Rhian Ramos. The official lighting of the Hitachi Christmas tree was led by Yoshinori Iwasawa, general manager of Hitachi, Ltd., (Philippines branch); Jun Ishihara, chairman of Manila International Freight Forwarders, Inc., and Hitoshi Goto, general manager of Hitachi Asia Ltd. (Philippines Branch).
Together for a merry holiday feast: Hitachi Terminals Mechatronics Phils. administration department manager Akira Inoue, Babcock-Hitachi (Philippines) Inc. vice-president Hisayoshi Matsuda, president Toshiharu Myoga, actress Rhian Ramos, Hitachi Asia Ltd.’s general manager Hitoshi Goto, Hitachi, Ltd. general manager Yoshinori Iwasawa and Manila International Freight Forwarders Inc. chairman Jun Ishihara A total of 19 Hitachi Group of Companies in the Philippines participated in the event which included Hitachi Asia Ltd., Babcock-Hitachi (Philippines) Inc., Clarion Manufacturing Corporation of the Philippines, Hi-Eles Industrial Corporation, Hitachi Air Conditioning Products Philippines Inc., Hitachi Cable Asia Ltd.- Philippine Branch, Hitachi Cable Philippines, Inc., Hitachi Global Storage Technologies Philippines Corporation, Hitachi High-Technologies Pte. Ltd., Hitachi Industrial Machinery Philippines Corporation, Hitachi, Ltd.-Philippine Branch, Hitachi Plant Technologies, Ltd.-Philippine Branch Office, Hitachi Terminals Mechatronics Philippines Corporation, Hitachi Via Asia Pte. The Christmas Fiesta ends today, Dec. 23, with chorale performances by the Carmelite and Anima at 6 p.m. by the Hitachi Christmas tree. The tree will be displayed at SM Mall of Asia until Jan. 2, 2011.
