2 new summer chillers from The Coffee Beanery

MANILA, Philippines – The Coffee Beanery, popularly known as TCB, lets you chill out this summer with two special drinks: the Avocado Medley Shake and the Coffee TsokoNut, which will be offered at all TCB outlets until May 31.

The Avocado Medley Shake is made from fresh avocado blended with vanilla ice cream and condensed milk, then garnished with grenadine syrup.

The Coffee ChocoMani has an espresso base blended with milk, vanilla ice cream, and is topped with the Pinoy’s favorite choco-peanut bar and whipped cream.

I-Republik is one year old on May 1

I-Republik is short for Ilocandia Republik, a new Ilocandia-inspired grill along Tomas Morato in QC. Must-try dishes include bagnet in pinakbet and adobo as well as “claypot comforts” such as igado.

Other favorites are the miki Ilocandia, dinakdakan, Jumbangus cooked a la bistek or teriyaki, pinakbet classic or sili, chicharon or longganisa fried rice, Ilocandia’s famous claypot rice and buko halo-halo.

Bananamon at Pan de Manila

Pan de Manila introduces its Bananamon, banana bread in the shape of a mamon. It’s made from real lacatan bananas.

There’s also the banana loaf, which is perfect for takeouts and pasalubong.

Pan de Manila also partnered with Century Tuna, which has come up with a tuna spread that will be exclusively available at the bakeshop.

Oakwood celebrates Spanish gastronomic traditions in “Viva España,” a Spanish wine and food festival ongoing until April 30 at the sixth level, Oakwood Premier Joy~Nostalg Center Manila, 17 ADB Ave., Ortigas Center, Pasig City.

Executive chef Jerome Cartailler offers an array of fiesta fare complemented by wines from Torres.

He pairs the wines with tapas (jamon Serrano, chorizos Españoles, and gambas al ajillo), seabass a la brasa, chuletillas de Cordero, paella Valenciana, and delectable desserts.
