Sorbetes so yummy, so full of memories

-

MANILA, Philippines - Nothing brings a bigger smile to loved ones like ice cream can. Ice cream is a snack that most Filipinos associate with celebrations, and bringing this treat home calls for a celebration.

“This is why Nestle Sorbetes is such a godsend for me with a family of ice cream lovers,” says 25-year-old ice cream lover Jason Jaud. “Its affordability makes it possible for me to bring it home everyday.”

Inspired by the traditional Filipino sorbetes of one’s childhood—the type usually sold in a cart by the neighborhood ice cream man or sorbetero— Nestle Sorbetes comes in three delicious, traditional flavors like keso, ube, tsoko peanut, and the new buco melon.

“The minute I had the first scoop, I loved it. Nestle Sorbetes is as delicious as I want my ice cream to be,” added Jason. “And aside from the fact that Nestle Sorbetes offers the flavors that we Filipinos are fond of, it also has the right amount of sweetness that makes it really yummy and hindi nakakaumay.”

Just as smitten with Nestle Sorbetes is Rivka Nagtalon, a communications expert and aunt to nieces who are ice cream lovers.

“Eating Nestle Sorbetes is a delightful ice cream experience for me as it brings back a lot of childhood memories. The tinkling bell of the mamang sorbetero on hot lazy afternoons always sparked a frenzied search for coins and slippers between me and the other kids,” she says. “But there’s something to be said for the modern taste of tsoko peanut — its sweetness is very Pinoy, which makes it a perfect sorbetes flavor, and my pamangkins are just smitten with the new buco melon flavor.”

Businesswoman and mother of three boys May Alma Arena loves that the ice cream is so delicious and is attractively priced at only P100 per tub.

“Swak sa budget ang Nestle Sorbetes so I always bring some at get-togethers,” Alma says. “If the lechon is the centerpiece of every Pinoy party, then the Nestle Sorbetes completes every sumptuous meal.”

Thirty-year-old Miwi da Costa, who works for a telecoms company and a father to a three-year-old boy, says he and his whole family likes having Nestle Sorbetes at home as it keeps them cool under the tropical heat.

“It’s so refreshing. It can be an all-year round frozen treat. Even my lolo and lola love Nestle Sorbetes,” he adds.
