Kimpura celebrates 39 years with seven new dishes
MANILA, Philippines - From the day Kimpura opened its first restaurant in Makati in 1970, Japanese traditional fine dining has never been the same. Now serving four generations of family members, the restaurant has served as witness to many happy celebrations among its loyal diners.
In celebration of Kimpura’s 39th year, the restaurant introduces seven new dishes. A healthy starter is the goya sunomono, a light and refreshing ampalaya strips in vinaigrette dressing.
Go light with kani mango salad (assorted fresh greens, mango cubes and crabsticks with a piquant dressing) and crispy soft-shell crab karaage served with tartar sauce. The sakura ebi goya kakiage is a tempura veggie patty flavored with dried Japanese shrimps.
Kimpura’s version of traditional Japanese favorites include aspara bacon maki (green asparagus wrapped in bacon) and tori butter yaki (steamed chicken cutlets braised in butter, shoyu and mirin). For the young set there is the ebi tempura maki special ( maki rolled sushi combination of tempura shrimp, unagi, shrimp roe and cucumber).
Kimpura is giving a complimentary bottle of red wine for a minimum food bill of P3,900+, inclusive of any order of its new dishes. The promo is valid from Oct. 10 to 31, for dine-in only. It’s not applicable with any other existing discounts and promos.

A taste of Tuscany and China at Edsa Shangri-la Hotel
This October, Edsa Shangri-La’s Paparazzi treats diners to the culinary delights of Tuscany, Italy. The Tuscan specials are available for lunch and dinner until Oct.31.
In celebration of the 60th Chinese National Day, The Summer Palace resident chefs Tony Sum and Andy Liew offer authentic specialties from the different regions of China featuring steamed Beijing dumplings, Fujian cold crab served with shredded ginger vinegar sauce, braised whole abalone with spike sea cucumber from Guandong, steamed garoupa fillet in light soy sauce from Guanxi and Shandong’s sweet potato pastries. The dishes are available until Oct. 11.

P888 Pinoy buffet at The Heritage Hotel
The Riviera Café at The Heritage Hotel offers lunch and dinner buffet for P888. Savor the diverse flavors of the Philippine Islands particularly Bicol and Quezon province until Oct. 15.

The Riviera Café also highlights the shabu-shabu nook and noodle/pasta station at the main kitchen theatre. The Japanese station features fresh salmon and tuna sushi, California maki, salmon roe maki, kani salad, and other culinary wonders.
