Cooking lessons at Sophia's Westgate Center

MANILA, Philippines – Westgate Center is fast becoming the newest dining, entertainment, and lifestyle destination of the south.  One of its newest restaurants is Sophia’s, which boasts the exotic flavors of Mediterranean cuisine.

This month, chef Mervyn Whitfield shares his secret recipes with those who love Mediterranean food by offering cooking lessons.

Lesson 1 includes crostini Toscani and penne a’ matriciana; lesson 2 will have gamberetti in salsa rosa with mango, arugula salad, and balsamic dressing, while lesson 3 has mollusc ala marinara and minestrone soup. Lesson 4 features fresh tagliatelle and linguine; lesson 5 consists of the classic tomato sauces like bolognese, puttanesca, and carbonara while lesson 6 is about the all-time favorite dessert tiramisu.

Lessons are scheduled every Tuesday and Thursday starting April 21 from 2 p.m. to 5 p. m.   A full course of six lessons costs P9,000, P5,000 for four courses, and P1,500 for one lesson.  For inquiries, call 771-7717.
