Wine and teppanyaki at Kimpura

It’s a sizzling Valentine’s celebration at Kimpura as the restaurant invites romantic diners to sample its teppanyaki section for a hot meal of teppan dishes. 

Ongoing until Feb. 15, Kimpura offers teppanyaki combination specials (all set menus include miso soup, kobachi, grilled beansprouts or asparagus, fried or steamed rice, and dessert), which include tenderloin steak and scallops, rib eye steak, mixed tempura or nigiri sushi, teriyaki steak, and lobster tails, rib eye steak and prawns, sirloin steak and oysters, lobster tails, prawns and gindara, scallops, cuttlefish and blue marlin, and scallops, prawns, and oysters. Every order of the teppanyaki special comes with a bottle (187ml) of Fortant de France wine.

Pinoy paella at Bagoong Club

Bagoong Club Resto celebrates the month of hearts with its “Kusina ni Kupido Valentine Specials,” from Feb. 13 to 15. Savor Pinoy paella, the Filipino freestyle version of the paella, mixed with Vigan longganisa and served with adobo flakes.

This February, Bagoong Club also offers kare-kare-é, a bulalo kare-kare with a blend of tsokolate-é, a peanut and chocolate lovers delight.

Hearty treats from Goldilocks

Goldilocks offers heart-shaped cakes for Valentine’s Day. The cakes come in choco, mocha, and marble chiffon flavors. Other products specially made for the season of hearts are the Valentine-themed polvoron cake, Valentine cookies, and chocolate lollipops.

A taste of the world at Dusit Thani Hotel

Satiate your heart’s full desire with Dusit Thani Manila’s offerings this love month in all its seven food and beverage outlets, namely, Umu, Tosca, Benjarong, Basix, Fiesta San Miguel, Lobby Lounge, and Dusit Gourmet.

At Umu, Japanese chef Kenichi Kanauchi primes a six-course set menu dinner priced at P2,700+ per person. For starters, indulge in plum wine, and three kinds of appetizers (nankin tofu, aigamo chapuni, and soft-shell crab karaage). For the main course, feast on salmon tataki, mini steak with oyster roast pie sheet, or the fusion lapu-lapu sushi. Enjoy fresh strawberry with mousse for dessert.

At Tosca, Italian chef Alessio Loddo prepares a three-course menu creation priced at P1,700+ per person. A four course dinner menu is also available for only P1,970 per person.

At Benjarong, a five-course set menu prepared by chef Phacharaporn Noinak is priced at P1,450 per person. At Basix, there is a wide array of international fare which includes US prime ribs, baked salmon, Chinese dimsum, roasted Peking duck, and a shabu-shabu station, among others. The Valentine dinner buffet is priced at P 1,600 per person.

At Fiesta San Miguel, Happy Hour is from 5:30 to 9 p.m. for only P350 per person.

On Valentine’s Day, the lobby lounge will have a mini Valentine show from 6 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.

Executive pastry chef Tony Khounie bakes cakes, pastries, pralines and chocolates daily. Try the heart-shaped saffron Bavarian cake for P 1,015.

Special empanaditas at Café Ano

Café Ano serves special empanaditas made of spinach, chicken, cheese, and pine nuts in its Valentine’s Day dinner buffet from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The main entrée includes bestsellers like Ilocano bagnet served with lechon/bagoong sauce and mango salsa on the side. For P650++, the buffet includes the chef’s salad bar, pumpkin soup with crispy shallots and sweet capsicum, empanaditas, sardines ala Roma, pork bagnet, ham and cheese stuffed chicken supreme, baked fish fillet topped with tomato, mozzarella and olives, penne pasta Napolitana, braised vegetables. Le Soufflé, in cooperation with Yamaha, presents soprano Joscephine Gomez with pianist Carlos Perion and flutist/saxophonist Boy Abadier in “Artfully in Love,” a Valentine dinner-concert, on Feb. 14, 8 p.m., at Le Soufflé Rockwell, Makati City.

Chef Jessie Sincioco has prepared a sumptuous seven-course special Valentine menu.
