A slice of friendship
Greenwich undergoes a major facelift. Its new café-like ambience with eye-catching murals, soft lighting, and cushioned seats reflects the brand’s contemporary vibe that will surely appeal to the younger set.
The new concept puts the spotlight on its tagline “Discover Friendship, Discover Delicious” in an effort to make barkada-bondings truly memorable at Greenwich.
“Our product offerings are perfect for sharing and bonding among friends. The new store promises to be a great place where friends can just hang out and be themselves,” says Annabelle Narciso, regional business unit head of Greenwich .
The new store layout also speaks of the brand’s continuing efforts to provide customers with a superb dining experience through great- tasting food and quality service.
Before Narciso and her team embarked on this project, they researched and conducted customer surveys to find out what their clients expect from the brand. The key insight is that pizza consumption is meant to be enjoyed by a group, and in a place conducive to group talk just like Greenwich.
Well, it wasn’t just the crush of diners that struck us when we dined at the newly opened Greenwich in Rufino Tower, Makati City. It was the way diners paid attention to their food, which was more than enough to whet our appetites.
Immediately, we asked our server to steer us to Greenwich ’s best-sellers. In less than 15 minutes, out came the gourmet overloaded pizza, available in two flavors: beef sharwarma and hickory barbecue chicken; the crispy fried chicken; the creamy-licious lasagna; salads; among others.
For this new store, Greenwich goes beyond the usual pizza and pasta fare. We even sampled its yummy starters and desserts which are not available in regular outlets. “How about John Lloyd Cruz for dessert?” asks Greenwich PR manager Michelle Pador.
The crowd went berserk as soon as the actor entered the resto. Clad in plaid polo and jeans, the Greenwich endorser gamely posed and interacted with his fans.
“With our recent brand repositioning, we thought it would be a good move to get someone to best represent Greenwich. John Lloyd mirrors the values and characteristics of our market. He’s very success-driven, adventurous, and passionate about what he does,” enthuses Pador.
The first Greenwich fast-casual store concept was launched last year at Philfirst Bldg. on Ayala Ave., Makati City.
“We’ve relaunched two new stores in Rain Tree and Ayala Center Malls in Cebu City recently and they’re all doing well. The new look will soon be replicated in all Greenwich stores nationwide,” Narciso adds.
According to Narcisco, the company has also upgraded its requirements in hiring people.
“We also provide our staff with a full-scale training program on customer service. In fact, we’ve tied up with the Magsaysay Institute for Hospitality and Culinary Arts (MIHCA), one of the leading institutes for food service training, to handle this very important aspect,” she adds.
Greenwich is also on its way to becoming the first food-service and restaurant business in the Asia-Pacific region to receive the ISO22000-2005 certification, also known as Food Safety and Management Systems. The move to apply for ISO certification is part of the company’s thrust to continuously offer only the best quality products and services to their customers.
“To be an industry leader, a company must always think ahead. We at Greenwich continue to upgrade our technology and processes, and always push for improvement,” shares Mickey Gonzaga, Greenwich restaurant systems and quality management director.
The pizza chain is coursing its application through SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing, and certification company.
“We are constantly taking our goal of ensuring customer satisfaction and delight to higher levels. At Greenwich, the customer is king,” Narcisco adds.
