A beachside reception for Silvio Lugo and Clarice Veloso

Silvio Lugo met Clarice Veloso while they were both completing their graduate studies in San Francisco, California. After several years of courtship, the couple decided to wed at the National Shrine of St. Joseph in Mandaue City, with Rev. Fr. Gil Manaoag officiating the nuptial rites.

Clarice, in a simple but elegant satin gown by internationally acclaimed Cebuana designer Monique Lhuillier, was utterly stunning as she walked down the aisle to meet her Silvio, dashing in a piña barong by Randy Ortiz.

Principal sponsors included Senator Manuel Araneta Roxas proxied by Marino Fernan, Rep. Antonio Veloso Cuenco, Ramon Tulfo, Tomas Tan, Raymond Aquino, and Salvador Cabrera. The madrinas were Jeanne Tan, Sandra Montejo Veloso, Remedios de Rivera Zafrani, Violeta Codilla, Josephine Cabrera, and Evangeline Oliman.

The groom’s brother Ruben Guillermo was best man, while Gay Marie Bertol Echipare, the bride’s cousin, was matron of honor. The groomsmen were Reynaldo Aquino, Michael Bautista, Michael Ofrasio, and Daniel Torres, while the bridesmaids were Katrina Chu, Maria Elena Gutierrez, and Christine Llenes. 

Also in the wedding party were secondary sponsors Edgar Veloso and Ana Patricia Lugo for candle, William and Violeta Veloso for veil, and Edward Guina and Kristine Pelias for the cord.

Friends and relatives from as far as America and Europe were all in attendance and showered the newlyweds with rose petals as they left the church.

The romantic by-the-beach reception at the Shangri-La Mactan Resort and Spa was simply grand. Tall glass vases filled with an assortment of fruits were set on each table, accented by white dendrobiums and lilies, without a doubt a masterpiece by florist Pinky Chang.

The fabulous buffet served at the dome tent was a gastronomic treat as well, with the freshest prawns and oysters, and a variety of steaks cooked to perfection.

Marissa Unchuan baked the four-tiered fondant cake.

The celebration was highlighted by endearing speeches, followed by all-night dancing with music provided by the One in Him Band. With the help of wedding planner Stanz Catalan, Silvio and Clarice succeeded in personalizing their special day.
