Cebu welcomes, bids farewell to CX executives
October 6, 2005 | 12:00am
Cathay Pacific Airways Cebu general manager Anna Cheung developed close relations with leaders from the travel industry and other sectors of the Cebuano community during her all too short a stay in Cebu. It was no surprise that many associates and friends turned out to wish her Godspeed at the cocktail reception at the Cebu Waterfront Hotel. It also served to welcome her successor Suzanne Wong Pui San.
Unfortunately, Anna Cheung was already in Shanghai where she was reassigned, but she did send her farewell message via an audiotape that was played during the affair.
The indefatigable and well-liked country manager Mark Sutch flew in as well to bid farewell to the Cebuanos before embarking on his new post in Hong Kong as head of flight operations. Energetic Vivian Lo will succeed him.
Enjoying the fun fellowship were frequent flyers and top tier Marco Polo Club members, such as Jean Michaut and his wife Fely, JC Cergneux of DHL, Derek and Mary Anne Arculli, entrepreneur Benson Dakay, and furniture maker Garrison Russeau. They were joined by travel specialists Aida Uy of Fortune Travel, Cecile Sa-a of Blue Horizon, Jenny Franco of Travel Vision, Marilou Pintor of Grand Holidays, and Marilou Ordoñez of Del Mar Travel and Tours.
An upbeat dance number by the Cebu CX dynamic team, led by passenger sales supervisor Connie Cimafranca, highlighted the celebration.
In closing, the staff presented Suzanne a tunic material in banana weave, while they gave Vivian an intricate locally-made evening bag. Mark Sutch brought home a miniature guitar a ukulele.
Suzanne is a management studies graduate and earned her masters in financial management from the University of London.
Before her posting to Cebu, Wong was sales support manager for the head office revenue department that assists Cathay Pacifics worldwide sales teams in their market analysis.
With fond memories, we say goodbye to Mark Sutch and Anna Cheung. With warm Cebuano hospitality, we extend our welcome to Suzanne Wong Pui San and Vivian Lo.
