PAL honors its Visayas partners in grand event

Talented and versatile entertainer Martin Nievera recently outdid himself with yet another high-powered performance at the "Daghang Salamat" appreciation dinner held at the grand ballroom of the Cebu City Marriott Hotel.
Hosted by Philippine Airlines and represented by its top Manila-based officials, such as president and COO Avelino Zapanta, EVP commercial group and EA to the chairman and CEO Henry So Uy, VP sales David Lim and country manager Enrique Javier, assisted by AVP Visayas sales and services Celso Dapo, the affair honored its top producers from the Visayas group of islands for the year 2002-2003.
The gold awardees for international ticket sales include Marget Villarica of Destination Specialists, Sheila Colmenares of Leisure Travel & Tours and Margaret Ang of Grand Holidays. The lone recipient of the silver plaque was Aida Uy of Cebu Fortune Travel. Universal Holidays, Global Link Travel & Tours, ATJ Travel & Tours and Travelways International, represented by Millet Dejaresco, Jeanne Teh, Joni Marie Priete and Alan Carvajal, respectively, reaped the bronze awards.
For domestic ticket sales, topping the list was Travel Lounge of Bacolod City represented by Sheila Yap. EON Travel & Tours (Felicito Tiu) and Dreamscape Travel International (Chandra Querubin), both from Iloilo, and Lopues Travel Center (Julia Lopue) of Bacolod bagged the silver awards.
Three travel agencies from Tacloban namely Northstar International Travel & Tours (Virginia Balagtas), A.S. Domestic & International Ticketing (Rosarie Villegas) and Eastern Visayas Air Travel (Daniel Cabigon), together with 328 Travel (Lucy Ponce) of Bacolod and Grand Holidays Cebu (Margaret Ang) were the bronze awardees.
For cargo sales, the sole gold awardee was Airlift Asia, and Eric Sanchez accepted the plaque. Lydia Agustin of Yussen Asia and Sea Service received the silver award, while Toshio Okunishi of Nippon Express Philippines was bestowed the bronze plaque. An appreciation award went to Kuehne & Nagel, headed by Edilberto Opano.
Emcee for the evening Freddie Santos delighted the guests with his candid wit and spontaneous humor.
