MANILA, Philippines — Senator Imee Marcos wore a traditional Cordillera outfit for the second State of the Nation Address (SONA) of her brother President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.

Imee explained that she chose to wear the outfit as a tribute to the Cordillera culture.

She also said that the tattoos on her body are not just ornaments.

Imee first wore a purple outfit ealier in the opening of the Senate.

"Parang Barbie lang," she said.

Concidentally, "SONA 2023," "Filipiniana" and "Barbie" became hot Twitter topics today following Filipina-American Ana Cruz Kayne's portrayal of "Filipina Barbie," wearing a traditional Terno in the first live-action "Barbie The Movie."
