Herlene Nicole Budol's national costume fails to arrive in one piece in Uganda
MANILA, Philippines — Herlene Nicole Budol, more popularly known as Hipon Girl, called for help when she found out that her national costume for the Miss Planet International pageant in Uganda failed to arrive in one piece.
The Binibining Pilipinas 2022 1st runner-up shared her experience on her Instagram on the early hours of November 5.
"Nakakaiyak at sobrang lungkot ng Hipon Girl nyo. Ang National Costume mukhang na disgrasya po ng airlines," Budol began.
She was told that the baggage that contained her costume was "oversized."
"'Pag dating ng airport ayaw ipakarga kesyo oversized daw. Then no choice na rin kami at hinayaan na lang namin chinopchop nila at binaklas buong box. Ang masaklap yung pinaka body ng costume hindi nakarating ng UGANDA," she added.
She ended her post by asking for help.
“Buong araw na kami asa airport at tinengga oras namin at pinangakuan kami na darating ng gabi. pero 2:30am na at wala na silang paramdam. Help me,” Budol said.
She tagged Ethiopian Airlines on her post.
Prior to this, she posted a photo of her and her manager, Wilbert Tolentino, thanking their airline for upgrading their seats for their connecting flight from Addis Ababa to Entebbe in Central Uganda.She has not posted on her Instagram any update on her concern.
The Miss Planet International coronation night will be on November 19 in Kampala, Uganda.
