WATCH: Nadine Lustre explains swimwear selections for H&M
MANILA, Philippines — Kapamilya actress Nadine Lustre is now officially the first Filipina ambassador of Swedish fashion brand H&M.
In an interview with Philstar.com on Thursday, the recording star shared how her collaboration with the brand came about.
According to her, last month, the brand approached her manager for the collaboration and she said “yes” right away.
“It was insane! I mean, honestly, it’s H&M, it’s a really big brand,” enthused Nadine, who has been using the label’s sports line even before the company got in touch with her for the collaboration.
Besides the brand name, she also appreciates what the Swedish label stands for.
“I like their advocacy, their Conscious line, where they recycle old clothes and turn it into new ones.”
She clarified that she did not design anything for the brand and instead, was asked to pick summer swimwear from the brand’s own designs. Her selections were then compiled into a collection, just like what football star David Beckham did for the brand’s basics line.
Nadine shared that her selections have two categories: the sultry and dressy line that one can wear both underwater or with a dress; and the athletic line with hints of sport.
Her selection also played on prints and colors such as oranges and earth tones.
“I used to not wear prints before, but because the fit is so good, I can’t say no,” she said.
There are so many pieces in the collection that Nadine has lost count, but the triangle-shaped swimwear from the athletic line is among her favorites.
“I used to not wear triangles before because I don’t have boobs!” Nadine enthused.
“But (in the collection), may triangle bikini that looks good on me! I don’t know why, I don’t know how…”
What she likes most from the collection, she said, is that it has something for everyone and offers pieces “for all shapes and sizes.” — Videos by Kat Leandicho
