Randy Ortiz marks 30 years of making women feel ‘feminine, soft, beautiful’
Randy Ortiz has been creating beautiful clothes for 30 years. With a coterie of loyal clients who have grown to include women from various best-dressed lists, glamorous movie stars and even an international clientele, he chose the younger generation to play a huge part in his by-invitation-only show proving that Randy’s designs are in vogue no matter what era one belongs to.
Millennials Juliana Gomez, Ashley Montenegro, Aya Abesamis, Harrison Hay, Joshua Benipayo, Kaila Estrada, Sabrina, Lorenzo and Nic Gonzalez made special appearances while their good-looking parents (who were Randy’s original muses, models and celebrity friends) were happily seated as part of the audience instead of being the main models for the milestone show at The Peninsula Manila’s Conservatory.

Surrounded by guests who showed up in the requested attire of denim couture, Randy paid homage to those who have paved the way to his international fashion stardom: peers, models, colleagues, loyal clients, assistants and the ultimate fashion inspiration — his dear mother.
“This show is to honor everyone who have been part of my journey as a fashion designer. I am truly grateful for all the support they have given me through the years,” Ortiz said.
The 80-piece collection was a testimony of his creative artistry and craftsmanship on luxe fabrics with handmade embroidery, beadwork and appliqués that showcased feminine silhouettes. While his forte is feminine to the core, the designer can easily tailor menswear just as handsomely for his male clients.
Stylish muse and current Rep. Lucy Torres-Gomez effusively acknowledged Randy’s work.

“The ternos I have worn to all the SONA events were made by him. And he knows me so well that I need not dictate a style or color. I just tell him the occasion, he creates something for me, and nine out of 10 times it almost always is what I had in mind. Today, Randy celebrates his 30th year in an industry that he has given so much of himself to, an industry that has likewise loved him back in equal measure. And I celebrate all that you are. Your strength as a designer is the way you make a woman feel as she wears your designs — feminine, soft, beautiful. And your strength as a person is your kind heart and generous spirit,” Lucy enthused.
