MANILA, Philippines — To mark Women’s Month, TV host and comedian Ruby Rodriguez modeled the latest spring-summer collection of a popular mall chain.

When asked by Philstar.com on what made her say “yes” to model, she said: “It’s a modeling for plus women and I just want to tell everyone that kung may kasya sa’kin, I guarantee, may kasya sa inyo.”

She said she was not at all intimidated by skinnier models. She modeled together with other plus-size celebrities like singers Bituin Escalante and Frenchie Dy.

“It’s about time that women in fashion shows, the clothes, become more diversified. I think that’s what’s most important, really,” said Ruby.

Her style advice for other women is “wear what makes you comfortable.”

“Do not wear sleeveless if you are not comfortable showing your arms,” she suggested.

For those who want to show a bit of their arms but still feel covered, she recommended wearing a “bakuna blouse,” or one that has slits or peek-a-boos in the arms.

Likewise, she suggested wearing sleeveless tops with playful straps.

For summer, her must-haves are duster, shorts, shirts, slippers, knickers, sunblock, and her favorite cheek tint – her secret to look fresh every day on the noontime show “Eat Bulaga!” — Videos by Deni Rose M. Afinidad-Bernardo, editing by Kat Leandicho
