Kisses Delavin on ‘best dressed’ gown: Like love without the hurt

MANILA, Philippines — As a child, Kapamilya actress Kisses Delavin has looked up to fellow “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate Kim Chiu, so to be at the same ball as Kim was is a dream come true for Kisses.
In fact, one of Kisses’ most prized possessions was an autograph from Kim that she got when she was about six years old.
Recently, Kim also invited Kisses to be a guest at one of the shows for Kim’s album launch. For which, Kisses said she truly feels honored.
From a fan, Kisses is now becoming a star of her own. Right after her debut early this year, the designer of her debutante gown that was well received by her over a million followers, Francis Libiran, convinced her to work her Star Magic Ball outfit months ahead of the ball.
With over 300 stars walking on the red carpet, it was far from Kisses’ wildest dreams that she would get the much-coveted “Best Dressed” award, which she shares with love team partner Marco Gallo. All she wanted was to make her parents happy.
“It’s one of the most glamorous nights of the year. I just want to make my mama and papa proud,” she told the press at the red carpet.
The custom-made Francis Libiran gown he wore was in soft tulle, studded with stones and laser-cut flower appliqués.
“Pinaghirapan po talaga ni Mr. Francis Libiran ‘to. Every month, he added a detail,” the actress shared.
Kisses is a fan of balls, but of all the gowns she had, she said her Star Magic Ball gown is unique for having a conservative front but a bare back.
“I was teary eyed because it took three to four fittings for this gown to be perfect,” she said.
How does it feel to wear her dream gown in her first Star Magic Ball?
“It feels like being in love. You have butterflies in your stomach and you feel very alive. It does not hurt. Maybe the heels hurt but it feels amazing!”
Marco, on the other hand, looked sharp in a Nat Manilag suit made of Italian fabric to signify the young actor’s Italian roots.
“Gusto ko ‘yung pa-simple pero malakas ang dating,” shared Marco, who feels flattered that Kisses accepted his date proposal.
When it comes to love, is Kisses also going to give Marco a chance?
“There are limitless chances in the world,” she enthused. “About love, it’s something that should wait with so many things happening now!”
