Gerald Anderson finds his Brazilian solemate
Showbiz heartthrob Gerald Anderson has finally found the “one.” She’s sweet and dainty, sexy chic, bold and artsy. And yes, she’s Brazilian.
Gerald’s perfect pair was introduced recently in a romance-themed event dubbed “Ipanema Perfect Pair.” The big reveal was attended by his loyal fans who trooped to the Activity Center of TriNoma Mall to get a glimpse of the Brazilian beauty. And everyone seemed impressed with his choice — of flip-flops from Ipanema.
Summer lovin’
Summer is synonymous not only with flip-flops but romance as well. Maybe it’s the heat, maybe it’s the fact that summer is short and sweet. But there’s something about love in the summertime that makes it special.
“During summer, the hopeless romantics would always hope they’d finally meet someone special. That’s why we conducted the ‘Perfect Pair’ dating game on social media. We invited Ipanema fans to post on Facebook and Instagram their ‘selfeets’ wearing Ipanema’s summer collection,” explains Cecille Loretizo, head of marketing, ELRO Retail Corp.
Ipanema’s summer collection is divided into three categories: Sweet and Dainty, Sexy Chic, Bold and Artsy. Each distinct Ipanema style was designed and is reflective of the different personas and tastes of Ipanema’s fun, fashionable wearers.
“The contestant whose ‘selfeets’ got the most number of likes will win a date with Gerald Anderson,” notes Cecille.
According to Cecille, Gerald’s image suits Ipanema.
“He’s good-looking and such a versatile actor. Whether it’s rom-com, drama or action movies, Gerald takes on any role with flying colors. You can equate his characteristics with our flip-flops. Like Gerald, Ipanema is versatile (you can wear it anytime, anywhere) and our designs are timeless,” explains Cecille.
During the event, the three finalists — Stephanie Tugadi, Nina Cañares and Pinky Reedus Villegas — took to the runway to show off the distinct Ipanema summer styles: Sweet and Dainty, Sexy Chic, Bold and Artsy. After the mini fashion show, Gerald serenaded them onstage. Blindfolded, he then determined the winner by choosing a pair of flip-flops in a box. The lucky winner was Nina, whose flip-flops matched Gerald’s pick.
Nina got the chance to spend an unforgettable kilig date with Gerald Anderson, one of the hottest young actors today, over sushi and sashimi at Kimpura. She also won an all-expense-paid trip to Shangri-La Mactan, Cebu for two.
“The feeling is indescribable. All of a sudden I’m having a date with my ultimate crush. He’s the perfect date, a perfect gentleman. Through this once-in-a-lifetime experience, I got to know my idol better,” enthused Nina, who was over the moon after her date with Gerald.
Sometimes, summer romances can bloom into what feels like, in Nina’s case, the greatest love of her life.
