Pinay designer Mich Dulce recognized by iconic UK store
MANILA, Philippines - Widely acclaimed as one of the most talented Filipina designers in this generation, Milliner/Corsetiere Mich Dulce continues to conquer the world with her talent.
In addition to working as a milliner for a famous French fashion house in Paris, Dulce announced on Instagram that she is included on UK department store Selfridges’ Bright New Things 2016 roster, which features “the most exciting new names in sustainable fashion.”
"Today is the day that I am finally able to happily announce that I am part of @theofficialselfridges's 2016 Bright New Things! Yay!! I am so thrilled to be part of this amazing initiative with all these other amazing sustainable designers," she said on her post.
The designer who has a knack in designing hats, also announced that her creations are now available at Selfridges, "one of the most amazing stores in the world on the busiest street in London."
Dulce trained at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design, London College of Fashion, and the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.
Motivated by her advocacy to introduce Filipino talent worldwide through using traditional Filipino materials on her RTWs, Dulce took part in the London Fashion Week where she put up a collection of bags and hats using the traditional weaving skills of ZACARIAS by S.C.Vizcarra, a Philippine heritage brand.
Dulce has also been awarded International Young Fashion Entrepreneur Award in London in 2010.
