A deodorant that whitens and keeps sweat at bay
DEAR RISSA,
I’ve been using a whitening deodorant, but it just seems to darken my underarms more. What deodorant should I be using?
DINNA
I can imagine how frustrated you must feel right now to see how your whitening deodorant doesn’t seem to be working at all. It’s possible that whitening ingredients and fragrances could be irritating your skin — when skin is irritated, it turns red and darkens also. Your underarms might be better off with a deodorant like Dove Pure (available at leading supermarkets and personal care stores). This deodorant does not contain any fragrance, parabens, colorants or alcohol. I’ve been using this for the past month because my underarms also started feeling itchy with my usual deodorant. It was actually a dermatologist friend who recommended it and when I tried it, I was pleasantly surprised with the results. No itchy, irritated feeling at all and it keeps sweat and odor at bay even through my workouts.

All-natural solution to thinning hair
DEAR LUCY,
I have thinning hair and getting a transplant is out of the question. Is there a salon I can go to that specializes in that? I am into all things organic, by the way, so using chemicals is not an option.
LILY
There is a salon that specializes in treating thinning, graying, and falling hair. You should check it out because they do not use any chemicals, it is all-natural (they use Chinese herbal medicine, essential oils, and herbal juice). They specialize in a timeless Eastern hair and scalp care system that starts by treating the root of the problem and bringing out all the toxins.
Customers who have been consistent with getting the prescribed treatments are very happy with the results as the treatment slows down the growth of white hair, curbs hair fall, and stimulates and accelerates healthy hair growth. Do check them out so that you can be assessed professionally.
Rejuvehair is located at Sekai Center, 368 Ortigas Avenue, North Greenhills, San Juan.
