A very ’70s H&M summer 2015
Breaking the monotonous grays of December, H&M recently gave us a sneak peek at its spring/summer 2015 collection at its light-filled Makati showroom. Summer fashion is always refreshing, especially when it cuts through all the rich and deep colors of cold-weather clothes.
“I love how H&M Studio for spring/summer 2015 is both glamorous and effortless. Pajamas are so easy to wear and look so great, especially with heels. It’s about fun in the sun, then partying into the night,” says Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M’s head of design, new development. Some of the key looks include draped pajama jacket and matching pants, fluid pajama wrap jacket, printed shorts, wide-leg flared jeans, oversized sleeveless tennis shirt, tank top with cut-out back, scarf-cut draped dresses, long and short jumpsuits, front-print T-shirts, suede miniskirt with tie-dyed hem, and bandeau bikini.
Meanwhile, for the men, there are blousons, biker jackets and blazers paired with tech zip-ups, heat-sealed shirts and scuba-look sweatshirts. “The urban men’s wardrobe is always evolving. For spring at H&M, it’s a strong look that combines updates to modern essentials with sportswear-inspired pieces in innovative fabrics. The feel of the city comes across in a graphic palette in shades of black, gray and white, with pops of green for a contrasting statement,” says Andreas Löwenstam, H&M’s head menswear designer.
H&M Studio’s glamorous, laid-back collection is a ray of sunshine, and it will make you dream of sea and sand. We’ll have to wait till March next year to get our hands on the clothes (I’m eyeing the shamelessly tropical wrap blazer); here’s what’s coming up after the holiday lights are taken down.
