Glitz, muses and 20 dresses
MANILA, Philippines - Plains & Prints launches its anniversary and holiday collections with haute basics, focusing on interesting cuts, silhouettes, colors and prints. These are fun, classic pieces that are given a quirky twist.
“We are also giving the logo — a ribbon — an edgier feel, using digital printing technique on fabric,’’ describes Rhett Eala, designer and creative director of Plains & Prints. “The public seems to really like our digital prints. It’s unique and no other brand employs this style.’’
The anniversary capsule collection features timeless pieces such as playsuits, pants, dresses, tops, and sports shirts named after some of the past and present image models of the brand, namely actress Anne Curtis, stylist Liz Uy, Thai model Paula Taylor, and actress and fashionista Gretchen Barretto.
“They are our muses of inspiration through the years so we thought of honoring them by naming some of the pieces after them,” explains Eala.
On the other hand, the holiday collection plays up on the Modern Metropolis theme, featuring 20 unique, trendy dresses inspired by different cities around the world.
The East Meets West collection combines chic and elegance in flattering silhouettes in varying shades of red and fuchsia with warm tones of peach and gray.
The Modern Metropolis collection features prints inspired by some of the famous cities in the world such as Milan, Shanghai, and London.
The Heaven and Earth collection was inspired by the vibrant colors of the sky with complementing touches of earth color tones.
